CediRates was built to solve a clear problem in Ghana: people struggled to easily compare the exchange rates offered by different banks, each using inconsistent formats. The platform set out to bring clarity and transparency, later expanding into fuel price comparisons to provide even more practical, everyday insights.

I lead design and contribute heavily to development, creating some of the most widely used features such as company pages, the currency converter, the news feed, and the admin dashboard. To help keep users informed in real time, I also wrote a script that automated daily tweets of exchange rates and tables, removing the need for manual updates and ensuring consistency. Alongside CediRates, I designed all visual elements for its sister company ChaleCheck, extending my role beyond development into brand and product design. Working with peers from Codetrain, including an industry professional with prior experience at Binance in marketing and finance, helped refine the platform’s positioning. Today, CediRates supports around 50,000 monthly active users and once peaked at over 3 million concurrent users during a sharp dip in the cedi, highlighting its role as a trusted source of financial information at scale.
